Welcome to 1st South Walsham Guides
Cupcake Challenge Badge available until 2020
Sales of our new look Cupcake Challenge badge have gone so well since its redesign in 2017, that we have had to order more stock to keep up with demand.
Another batch has been delivered and stocks should be available until the end of 2020.
The design has the Girlguiding UK trefoil at its heart and the badge details include some new activities, or Extra Toppings, to try out.
Our first badge project, from 2011-13, resulted in a huge response from more than 1200 groups in the UK and across the world who all took up the challenge and got the badge.
We sent badges to Australia, New Zealand, the USA and the Middle East as well as all corners of the UK.
We relaunched the badge in 2015 and sold to another 230 units.
Since our 2017 relaunch, we’ve sold badges to another 230 groups and this has helped to raise money for two trips to Switzerland, in 2012 and 2016, and for our stays at Norjam, the international jamboree in Norfolk in 2014 and 2018.
We don’t exactly know where we are going next but when we have chosen our destination, we know the proceeds from our badge will help towards the cost for Guides and their families.
The Cupcake Challenge Badge, with Extra Toppings and badge order form, is on the website – visit our Cupcake Challenge page to download it now.
Who are 1st South Walsham Guides?
We are a unit of 24 Guides, three Young Leaders and five Adult Leaders based in South Walsham, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads.
We’re part of Girlguiding UK – the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the country. Guides are aged between 10-15 and you don’t have to have been a Brownie to join us.
We get involved in lots of different activities and projects – outdoors, creative, fund-raising, sporty, music and drama. We meet on Wednesday evenings and we’re always happy to welcome new members.
Contact our Leader, Chris Bond, on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
