The Cupcake Challenge, designed by 1st South Walsham Guides, has been taken up by Guide and Girl Scout groups in far flung places.
Girls in Australia, Kuwait and Kentucky USA have heard of the challenge and are getting stuck in to the activity pack.to gain their badge.
Slightly closer to home, badges have also been sent to Spain where Guides and Brownies there are enjoying the different activities the challenge has to offer.
“We never thought in our wildest dreams that the challenge would go right across the world like this,” says leader, Chris Bond. “It’s amazing to think that the games, challenges and activities that we dreamed up last winter in our church hall are now being repeated at meetings of girls across the world.”
Sales continue to soar
Sales of the Cupcake Challenge badges are still going strong, despite the summer holidays, and a grand total of 7500 have been sold to date. Almost 300 units across the UK have taken up the challenge and used it for meetings, camps and pack holiday themes.
Proceeds from the challenge badge sales will go to the 1st South Walsham Guides Switzerland Fund.
“We’re off to Adelboden in August next year and aiming to raise half the cost for everyone going,” says Chris.
The Guides have plenty of badges still in stock and will continue to re-order until December 2012. Copies of the challenge and the order form can be downloaded from the Cupcake Challenge page on this website.
